A FORMER professional footballer is defying economic trends in the health sector by expanding his physiotherapy business.

Kristian Hackett, director of Anston Physiotherapy, has moved into the Keepmoat Stadium at Doncaster, to boost facilities at Stadium Fitness.

Kristian, who played for Leeds United and Bury, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be located in such a prominent location.

“It’s an exciting time for the company to be growing in the current climate when other health-related programmes, companies and even the NHS are seeing major cuts.”

The business, based in Anston, near Sheffield, was launched in 2008 and has won a reputation for providing immediate access to musculo-skeletal and paediatric physiotherapy, sports massage, acupuncture and hypnotherapy.

Kristian added: “The facilities in the Keepmoat Stadium are second to none and it’s great to have a high quality fitness suite just down the corridor for patients, if needed, to take advantage of during rehabilitation.”

Shane Chalmers, chief executive of the Stadium Management Company, said: “We are very pleased to be able to offer this service and I believe it complements both businesses and customers.”
