Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill is encouraging people to get active to help youngsters at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Heptathlete Jessica has been unveiled as the face of Team Theo - a group for anyone who takes part in an active challenge to support the Children’s Hospital Charity.
Activities range from running, cycling and swimming to bungee jumping or skydiving.
Jessica, a patron of the charity for eight years, said: “I would like to encourage as many people as I can to get out and get active. The hospital is such an amazing place and I am really proud to be a patron for the charity.”
She was joined at the launch by sports journalist Dan Walker and squash player Nick Matthew, as well as dedicated fundraisers who have collected thousands through sporting challenges.
Funds raised through Team Theo will go towards the charity’s Make It Better appeal, which needs to hit a £10 million target by 2016.
Charity director David Vernon-Edwards said: “Jessica is an incredible inspiration to patients and supporters of the charity.”
