ACTOR Nick Mills swapped the Farm for the Tarn when he paid a visit to Barnsley.

Nick, who plays Jimmy King in Emmerdale, was visiting the town’s Community Rehabilitation and Respite Unit, run by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. His visit came as part of national Action for Brain Injury week and was organised after his Emmerdale character recently suffered a head injury causing him amnesia.

Bev Garside, outreach sister at the unit based at the Keresforth Centre, said: “Our coffee afternoon gave our current patients a chance to socialise with past patients and see the kind of progress that can be made after leaving the unit. Meeting Nick Miles who is playing a character with a brain injury, was also a great experience for us all.”

The unit also provides care for people with other neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
