The general manager of Willmott Dixon Partnerships’ Rotherham branch has cycled the length of Britain to raise £1,700 for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the British Heart Foundation.

David Coldwell, who manages the company’s repairs and maintenance service to over 12,000 households in Rotherham, decided to take part in the gruelling 900 mile bike ride from John O’Groats to Lands End as a challenge to mark his 50th birthday.

David said: “This wasn’t a challenge I took on lightly.

“I knew it would be a mental and physical test for me, but I know The British Heart Foundation and Great Ormond Street Hospital both work tirelessly to save and change lives and that kept me on track.”
