A PARAGLIDER broke his ankle in a heavy landing on Mam Nick in the Peak District.
The 59-year-old, from Sheffield, injured himself on Saturday and an air ambulance was called out to help him, but because of the terrain it could not land so he was driven to the Northern General Hospital instead.
Members of Buxton and Edale Mountain Rescue Teams were called out to help the casualty.
The same day the rescue teams were called out to help a 53-year-old woman who fell off her bike and suffered a suspected fractured ankle as she rode between Great Longstone and Monsal Head.
She was taken to Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
