Fundraisers supporting Sheffield Children’s Hospital’s appeal to raise £20 million towards its big redevelopment project are encouraging thousands of people to take part in a ‘mass bounce’ – in the hope of breaking a world record.
The Children’s Hospital Charity wants to top the current Guinness World Record for the most people bouncing on space hoppers at the same time.
The current record stands at 2,943 people – but the good cause wants 3,000 to join the event, happening at Stand Road Park in Chesterfield on Sunday, July 28.
Money raised through the bounce will go towards the charity’s Make It Better campaign to fund enhancements for the new hospital facilities, including en-suite bedrooms, a play tower and sensory garden.
Registration costs £10, which buys each participant their own space hopper and air pump to keep, while families can pay a discounted price of £30.
Radio station Peak FM is helping to host the record attempt.
