The dreams of a little girl who has a life-limiting illness have come true after she travelled to Paris to meet the Disney princesses.

Six-year-old Grace Shaw was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a condition that severely affects the major organs, particularly the lungs, very soon after she was born.

As a result of her condition, little Grace has to take a huge amount of medication and endure regular visits to hospital.

In recognition of her bravery, Grace’s parents Wayne and Lisa, put her forward to have a very special wish granted by Starlight Children’s Foundation - to visit Disneyland Paris and meet her favourite Disney princesses.

Wayne said: “Grace has had a really tough time last year in hospital so it was amazing to share such a magical moment as a family and that we were all able take part in the fairytale.”

Starlight, a wish granting charity for children with serious and terminal illness, arranged for Grace and her family, including her younger sister Maisie and younger brother Jacob, who also has cystic fibrosis, to spend an enchanting four nights at Disneyland Paris.

During their trip, the Shaw family from Barnsley, stayed at the resort’s Sequoia Lodge, positioned next to Lake Disney.

Wayne said Grace, who wants to be a nurse when she grows up, absolutely loved breakfast time when all the Disney characters came to meet her and made her feel like royalty.

“It was a truly magical four days fit for a princess,” added Wayne.

“I will never forget the look on Grace’s face when she met the Disney princesses.

“Thank you to Starlight for giving Grace her happily ever after.”
