BARNSLEY and Rotherham Chamber struck just the right note when they made a £5,000 donation to South Yorkshire dementia charity Lost Chord.
Chamber president Chris MacCormac has chosen both Lost Chord and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice as his preferred charities during his year of office.
And at the Chamber awards evening at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, he presented the proceeds of the annual President’s Ball to Lost Chord chief executive Helena Muller.
Helena thanked the Chamber for choosing them and added: “This excellent support will help to raise awareness of the real plight of those people living with dementia everywhere, while at the same time helping to raise much-needed funds to help one of the most disadvantaged groups in society.
“In real and practical terms, what this donation means is three more homes in our region will be able to continue taking part in the Lost Chord programme for another year.”
