Cash boost for Ebonie

A FUND-RAISING night was organised at Sheffield’s Owlerton Stadium to raise money to help send a little girl with a brain tumour for pioneering treatment in America.

The venue organised the event earlier this month to raise cash to help with the plight of Barnsley girl Ebonie Webb.

The three-year-old was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was aged just six months and although she was initially given the all-clear, the mass has now returned. Proton therapy in the US - a more precise type of radiation treatment - is now her best chance of getting better.

Owlerton organised the fundraising night to raise cash towards her family’s flight and living costs while they are in America.

Dave Perry, general manager, said: “We have a history of fund-raising here that we are proud of and we are delighted to be able to help raise money for Ebonie.”
