AN information and advice centre for Rotherham’s army of unpaid carers celebrates its first birthday this week.

The Carers’ Corner - between Drummond Street and Effingham Square - has welcomed around 4,200 through the doors to received advice, information and support from its specialist team.

A further 1,200 carers have also accessed support through the Carers Forum, and another 150 have undergone training courses.

Shona McFarlane, director of health and wellbeing at Rotherham Council, said the centre was a “vital and valuable resource”.
