TWO Sheffield brothers are taking on a Parisian challenge in honour of the mother they lost to cancer 25 years ago.

Ashley and Bradley Charlesworth are riding 470km from London to Paris, where they expect to arrive at the weekend.

Ashley, who runs Endcliffe Park cafe, and Bradley, co-owner of the Cubanas tapas restaurant on Trippet Lane, will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of their mum Sheila, who lost her battle with the disease 25 years ago.

The pair have a target of £3,000.

Ashley said they had been looking forward to the trip – which they set off on yesterday – but were not expecting an easy ride. He said training had been tough.

Ashley said: “I would be lying if I said the training has been easy! Neither of us has done anything like this before.

“We have both found it tough at times, but we have managed to get out on our bikes – whatever the weather – and put the miles in. Fingers crossed, all the training will pay off.”
