A support group in Sheffield which helps people with lung conditions has been awarded £10,000 to fund a new project.
The cash, from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All scheme, has been given to the Breathe Easy Sheffield group and will pay for singing sessions and weekly activities including Tai Chi and dance.
Classes will take place at Springs Leisure Centre.
Breathe Easy is part of a network of British Lung Foundation groups open to anyone affected by respiratory disease, their families or carers.
Instructor Jo Strong said: “People who suffer from lung conditions have a constant battle with their breathing and for some people it can take over their lives, but singing has been proven to improve the health of those who experience problems.”
