A South Yorkshire teenager has been shortlisted for an award after raising thousands of pounds for the hospital where he was treated for a brain tumour.
Jack Butt, aged 13, is one of three finalists for the Institute of Fundraising’s child fundraiser of the year award.
He was diagnosed in 2012 and underwent a seven-hour operation at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Following his treatment, Jack decided to help the Children’s Hospital charity’s Make It Better appeal, which aims to transform the hospital to make it a more comfortable environment for patients.
Jack, from Doncaster, has already raised £15,000 through activities including a swimathon and bake sale.
His mum Amanda said: “What he’s already achieved is amazing and we could not be more proud of his determination and bravery after everything he has been through.”
Jack will find out whether he has won in July. Visit www.justgiving.com/Jack-Butt-Fundraising to sponsor him.
