Sheffield’s British Transplant Games event has received a £25,000 boost.

The British Heart Foundation has become the latest charity to announce its support for the games in August. It has donated £25,000 towards the Westfield Health event.

Graham Moore, chairman of the local organising committee, said: “We are delighted to welcome the foundation as a supporter. The event is a fantastic way to not only celebrate life but also to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation. Support from such a high-profile charity is invaluable.”

The Star’s Gift of Life campaign aims to sign up 12,000 names to the donor register. Call 03001232323, text SAVE to 841118 or visit to join.
