Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating improved scores in this year’s patient environment action team inspections.
The trust was reviewed for its standards of food, privacy and dignity, and general environment - and was rated excellent, excellent, and good.
The results show significant improvements on scores for the hospital over the last three years.
Lorraine Christopher, director of estates and facilities, said: “The trust is committed to constantly improving patient facilities and putting patient experience at the forefront of everything. These scores really showcase all the hard work that has been put in to bring about these improvements.
“We continue to make investments to improve the environment for patients through initiatives like our transforming urgent care programme which will include a new patient observation ward in the emergency department and an expansion of our acute medical unit.”
Inspections were carried out by patient representatives, hospital staff, non executive directors and a member of the governing council.
