A South Yorkshire hospital has been rated as one of the top 40 in the country.
Barnsley Hospital was awarded the ranking based on 22 key performance indicators covering safety, clinical effectiveness, health outcomes, efficiency, patient experience and quality of care.
Diane Wake, chief executive at the hospital, said staff were ‘delighted’.
“This is a great accolade and highlights the fantastic work all our staff do to deliver excellent patient care,” she added.
The accolade was handed out by health consultancy CHKS as part of its 40Top Hospitals scheme.
