Experts have met in Barnsley to discuss how to help residents live healthier lives
Barnsley Council and the Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group hosted an event on NHS Health Checks for local health professionals.
Coun Jim Andrews, cabinet spokesman for public health, said: “The NHS Health Checks scheme has had great success in helping to improve the health of our residents.
“Over five years, nearly 48,000 people have had their health check.
“It’s important we keep staff up to date so they can provide people with the best service possible.”
NHS Health Checks are designed to prevent people developing conditions such as heart disease.
