Barnsley dementia patients benefit from new chair

Barnsley dementia support charity BIADS has received £1,120 from the Santander Foundation to buy a motorised chair for use at its support unit in Dodworth.

The unit provides relaxation therapy which stimulates the senses of those in the later stages of dementia, using lights, pictures, aromas and music.

Pam Evans from BIADS said: “We want to reach out to patients and their senses to bring them back into the world. The grant from Santander has been vital in helping us to do this.”
