AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a farmer’s sheep were stolen from a field.
A ram and eight lambs were taken from a farm between the villages of Styrrup and Oldcotes, near Worksop.
The theft was discovered after the farmer counted his flock of 45 sheep and found that a number of the animals were missing.
The white Suffolk Cross ram is believed to have been stolen on or around July 22, while the lambs could have been taken at any time from June 25 to July 26.
PC David Taylor, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The field is quite isolated, but it is edged by a relatively busy thoroughfare between the two villages.
“We’re hoping someone may have noticed something suspicious while driving through.”
