Health service with a heart
COMMUNITY health services in Rotherham have been praised by a national health chief for putting the patient at the heart of everything they do.
Chief health professions officer Karen Middleton came to the borough to visit health therapy services which demonstrate quality, innovation, productivity and prevention - known as the QIPP principals.
The Care Homes Liaison Service at North Anston Medical Centre and the Intermediate Care Residential Unit at Netherfield Court were each chosen to receive visits.
Both offer alternatives to patients having to be admitted to hospital. The North Anston team offers planned, targeted support to residential and nursing homes in the area, while Netherfield Court provides residential and community rehabilitation services.
Karen said: "I am very impressed with the innovative work and the high standard."
