CONTROVERSIAL Health Secretary Andrew Lansley visited doctors and health projects in Sheffield to see how the city is enacting his health reforms.

The Conservative politician, architect of the biggest shake-up to the health service since its formation, visited GPs taking over responsibility for commissioning £1 billion of health services in the city.

He also dropped in to the Early Days Children’s Centre in Parson Cross, at the invitation of Labour councillor Jackie Drayton, who is responsible for children and families in Sheffield.

Coun Drayton said she wanted him to see how the city is working to reduce inequality.
