BARNSLEY residents are being encouraged to have a say in how their local health provision is run in the lead-up to the handover of services to a new provider.
The South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will soon be responsible for community and mental health services in the town.
And in late spring, NHS Barnsley has agreed that its provider, Care Services Direct, will join forces with SWYPFT.
The trust already provides services in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.
Sean Rayner, chief operating officer for Care Services Direct, said: “It is extremely important for Barnsley to be properly represented in the membership of SWYPFT.
There is already an established membership for the other areas within the boundaries of the trust and we need to make sure Barnsley people also have a voice.”
