Head to park for festive fun

APPEARANCES by stars from Sheffield’s panto, fireworks and live music are among attractions at the Firth Park Christmas Festival on Thursday, December 1, from 3pm to 7pm.

Cast members from Sleeping Beauty, which stars Damian Williams and Coronation Street’s Margi Clarke and runs at the Lyceum from December 9 to January 8, and characters from Firth Park Community Theatre group’s production of ‘Olivia’, will meet the public.

Chaucer School’s steel band and Glee Bah Gum choir will be providing entertainment.

Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough MP David Blunkett will switch the Christmas tree lights on and set the fireworks off at 5.30pm.

The festival is also hosting a Santa’s grotto, wreath making, fairground organ and fairground rides, zumba dancing demonstrations, craft stalls and a lantern parade.
