TWO friends from South Yorkshire are planning a three-hour sponsored swim for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Mark Griffiths, aged 42, from Thurcroft in Rotherham, will be swimming with Revenue and Customs colleague Janice Lockwood, 55, from Eckington.

Both have been training hard, and predict they will each cover about 3.5km on the day.

Mark said: “There are about 500 staff where I work, and many have been affected by, or even died from, cancer. People in my family have also been affected and so the charity is personal to me.” To date, they have raised over £1,000.
