Have you seen the missing movie star parrot?

FEATHERS were quite literally flying in Gleadless after one of the stars of a forthcoming movie flew the nest.

Channel 4 movie-makers who are filming This is England 2 in the Ironside Road area report Ian the green parrot, who plays a part, has disappeared.

Now they're appealing for anyone who has seen him to call Nick Ward at The Star on 0114 2767676 to ensure the show goes on.

Film 4 spokeswoman Jen Rooks said: "We are desperate to get him back and the sooner the better."

Local man Rob Dowling, who witnessed the great escape, said: "I saw one of the actors carrying a cage containing a parrot into a flat where they have been filming.

"Five minutes later all the cast and crew came running out. All these skinheads and the film crew were chasing a parrot around Gleadless. I have never laughed so much."
