A Sheffield Air Scouts group are happy campers after receiving a £500 donation to fund new outdoor equipment.

The 230th Sheffield Gleadless Air Scout group was awarded the money by members of the Masonic Province of Yorkshire, West Riding, which has been used to buy new outdoor tables and a water heater.

And the grateful group are already trying their equipment out - on a camping trip to Phasels Wood near Hemel Hempstead this week.

During their time away the Air Scouts will be taking part in various outdoor activities.

They’ve also enjoyed a visit to Harry Potter World as part of the camping trip, and will visit Drayton Manor theme park later this week.

Scout leader Lionel Haslam said: “We are extremely grateful for the donation which has allowed us to buy this fantastic equipment.

“It will be used by the Cub, Beaver and Scout groups so it will get plenty of use.”
