Hanged boy, 10, wanted to be a girl

A BOY of 10 has been found hanged at his South Yorkshire home after telling his mum he wanted to become a girl.

Cameron McWilliams had also been teased after he was found to be wearing his half-sister's knickers and his mother Kelly McWilliams told a Doncaster inquest she had bought him some female underwear but had refused to let him wear make-up.

Mrs McWilliams found her son with a belt around his neck when she went into the room where he should have been asleep at their home in Montrose Avenue, Intake, in the early hours of last Monday and attempts by police to revive him were not successful.

His mother also revealed Cameron had been very interested in recent media reports about the spate of hangings involving teenagers in Bridgend, South Wales.

She agreed that he was very lonely with no friends outside school but felt he would talk to her if he was thinking of killing himself.
