BROOMHILL Forum members have formed an action group to lobby the owner of the disused Hallam Tower Hotel for action to tidy the site.
Minutes of a recent meeting of the forum reveal members of the community group are concerned the site could remain derelict for many more years.
The hotel closed in 2004.
The forum report said: “A Hallam Tower action group has been formed. Although some work to tidy up the site by the owner is under way, with black painted boarding over some broken windows, trees removed from the roof and graffiti removed, the group are concerned that this work is of a very temporary nature and does not address longer-term problems.
“It is thought likely the site will remain derelict for many more years.”
