Youngsters at a Sheffield primary school were put through their paces by a top international gymnast.

Great British gymnast Matthew Firth sprang into action to lead exercise classes at Prince Edward Primary School on City Road near Arbourthorne.

Money raised in the sponsored fitness event will help raise cash for school sports equipment. He also led a special assembly where he performed stunts.

Nick Wells, PE co-ordinator, said: “Mathew demonstrated his abilities and answered questions about his life, all aimed at trying to inspire a generation into working hard to become whatever they want to be. The children were amazed by Mathew’s abilities and hopefully inspired.”
