Gunman arrested in Sheffield

A man with a gun was arrested by police in Sheffield in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to a property on Cannock Street, Hillsborough, at 2.15am following reports that a man had a firearm.

A 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and is in police custody.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

In an earlier incident, at 12.10am, officers were called to Woolley Wood Road, Shiregreen, after receiving reports that a gun was fired at a house.

Police discovered that a window had been shot at.

Again, nobody was injured.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police are investigating the incident and believe this may have been a targeted attack.”
