Staff who work behind the scenes at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity are getting out of the office and into the mud for a charity challenge.
A team of six is taking on the 8km Endurer Dash in September to boost the hospital’s Make it Better campaign, which aims to transform the hospital.
And the challenge is out of character for some.
Gemma Bower, community fundraiser, said her mum had ‘cried with laughter’ when she found out.
Gemma added: “Let’s just say I prefer meals out to working out.”
Colleague Tonya Kennedy, events fundraiser, added: “I’m sure good old team spirit and adrenaline will get us through the day – along with some bruises, scrapes and maybe the odd broken bone.
“But that’s nothing when you think about what the children in hospital are having to go through.”
