Growing concerns for missing Doncaster man, 59

Alan Brown, 59, from Westfield Road, Balby, has been missing since October 17, 2012.

Alan Brown, 59, from Westfield Road, Balby, has been missing since October 17, 2012.

DETECTIVES leading the search for a missing Doncaster man have re-issued an appeal for information, four months after he disappeared.

Police are exploring the possibility 59-year-old Alan Brown - who is known to enjoy visiting theatres in the West End - may have travelled to London.

Detectives in Doncaster are working with the Metropolitan Police to widen the search.

Alan, from Westfield Road, Balby, was last seen in October last year.

He is 5ft 7ins tall, slim, with sandy coloured hair and wears glasses.

Officers have searched ‘extensively’ for Alan in Balby and surrounding areas of Doncaster. Posters have been put up featuring his picture, and appealing for information.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Steve Whittaker said: “Alan was last spoken to on October 17, and reported missing on October 23.

“We have dedicated officers to the search and have spoken to his friends and neighbours.

“However, unfortunately, the last sighting of Alan is still the day he went missing last October - no-one has heard or seen him since.

“We have conducted numerous house-to-house inquiries and trawled through CCTV footage and officers are continuing with every possible line of inquiry. We want to find Alan or to know he is safe and well, so we can let his concerned family know.”

Call police on 101, ref: incident 220 of October 25, 2012.
