RESIDENTS in Sheffield are invited to a new course aimed at helping people to save money and eat well, by learning to grow their own food.
The 10-week course at Hollinsend Methodist Church, Hollinsend Road, started on Wednesday, but there are still places available.
The free course takes place every week, at 2pm, and anyone is welcome.
“You don’t need a big garden or an allotment,” said Neil Bishop, manager of Darnall Forum, which is helping to organise the course.
“The tutor will help you to grow things in pots and planters as well as in pocket handkerchief gardens and backyards.”
Course tutor Androo Thornton, who works as a community grower for Grow Sheffield, said: “The growing season has arrived so now is the time to get digging.”
