A society which provides a friendly face to Sheffield folk is on a mission to help the lonely and isolated this Christmas.
As the season of goodwill begins, the South Yorkshire branch of the Oddfellows is hosting a series of festive friendship-themed events.
Organisers hope the get-togethers will show residents no-one needs to be alone this December and raise cash for local charities along the way.
Activities kick off with a pub lunch at the Miners Arms, Carr Lane, Dronfield Woodhouse, on Monday from 12.30pm.
A celebration takes place on Wednesday, December 18, at Gosforth Lodge, Cliffe Park, Dronfield, from 7.30pm and the programme will end on a high at Grenoside Community Centre, Main Street on Friday, December 20.
The coffee afternoon and fundraising raffle begins at 2pm.
Oddfellow member Lesley Hall said: “Our members don’t see Christmas as a time to celebrate receiving expensive presents, but more for giving something back to people who aren’t as fortunate as we are and sharing the holidays with our friends and family.
“We always like to have fun and get into the festive spirit. Everyone’s welcome.”
