TWO groundsmen at Sheffield’s municipal golf courses are to have their working hours reduced as cost cutting measures continue to bite.
Sheffield International Venues employs six groundsmen at its courses in Beauchief, Tinsley and Birley.
Now it has emerged that two of the posts are to be made into seasonal roles.
It means two of the staff will work only from March to September when the golf courses are open.
Steve Brailey, who is the chief executive of Sheffield International Venues which operates the golf courses, said: “We can confirm that consultation is now underway with regards to making two groundsman roles into seasonal positions.”
