Greens tell PM to come clean

GREEN campaigners staged a stunt in Sheffield city centre when a life-size model of the Prime Minister was set up outside the Town Hall.

The image of Gordon Brown was shown covering his eyes while playing with an aeroplane as members from Friends of the Earth staged a protest urging the Prime Minster and Heeley MP Meg Munn to include airplane emissions and shipping pollution in its new Climate Change Law.

Meg Munn will be voting on the law when it is debated in Parliament later this month.

Maureen Edwards from Sheffield Friends of the Earth said: "It's crazy for Gordon Brown to leave out climate changing emissions from planes and ships from the new Climate Change Law.

"Why should our local industry and businesses be held to account for their carbon emissions but not the aviation industry?"
