PLANS to extend the opening hours of a Sheffield pub have been approved by councillors, despite objections from residents in nearby flats.
Punch Taverns, which owns The Dog and Partridge in Trippet Lane, applied to open until 1.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Members of Sheffield Council’s licensing sub-committee voted to approve the application, but attached conditions to try to reduce night-time noise from the pub.
City councillor Rob Murphy led the objections to the brewery’s proposals, which also wanted to open from 9am to serve breakfasts and non-alcoholic drinks.
He said people from neighbouring West Point apartments had contacted him, complaining they had been disturbed by customers leaving The Dog and Partridge.
