RUNNERS across South Yorkshire are being urged to grab their last chance to take part in this year’s Bupa Great North Run on Sunday, September 16, and raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Helen Jackson, Cancer Research UK’s senior national events manager, said: “It’s thanks to supporters who take part in events such as the BUPA Great North Run that Cancer Research UK’s doctors, nurses and scientists are able to go on making progress in the fight against cancer.
“Our charity places are filling fast and there’s less than a month to sign up – so if you think you are up to the challenge, please let us know today.”
Cancer Research UK’s team of over 2,700 runners is aiming to raise over one million pounds to help beat the disease by conquering the famous 13.1 mile route from Newcastle to South Shields.
