Police are investigating after a man and a girl were seen spray-painting several walls and shop fronts with graffiti.
Buildings were defaced along High Street in Rotherham at around 5pm on Tuesday.
Black paint was used to spray numerous ‘tags’ which were similar to those seen previously in silver paint.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We are asking the public to come forward if they know who is causing the damage, or who may have seen anything on Tuesday night.”
The man was white, wearing blue tracksuit bottoms, a purple jacket and white trainers. The girl had long dark hair and was wearing ripped jeans and a green jacket.
A 29-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl have been arrested on suspicion of damage. Call police on 101 quoting incident 897 of April 2.
