STUDENTS from Sheffield Hallam University are being given career opportunities thanks to a partnership with a local building company.
Abbas Mahmood and Rory Powell, both quantity surveying graduates, have gained full-time jobs with building firm Burngreave. Undergraduate student Craig Webb’s work placement with the company went so well he was immediately offered a job.
He is now working while studying part-time at the university to complete his quantity surveying degree.
Abbas, 23, from Shirecliffe, Rory, 27, from Sharrow, and Craig, 22, from Dronfield, are all ‘delighted’ to have gained employment with the firm.
Gary Adshead, head of business development at Burngreave, said: “We are consistently impressed with the quality of the students we receive on placement from Sheffield Hallam, and we are delighted to have been able to offer jobs to three outstanding candidates.
“Abbas, Rory and Craig are assets to us and I look forward to supporting them.”
