Golfing day backs appeal

A GOLF tournament which attracted players from far and wide has raised more than £2,500 for Cancer Research.

Hope Valley Rotarians organised the event at Sicklehome Golf Club in Bamford which attracted 23 teams.

Players travelled from Hull and a team of former big name football stars also took part which included ex-Blades player Ted Hemsley and former Wednesday players Peter Eustace, Johnny Quinn and Graham Burkes.

The event was organised by rotarian Jeff Lilley, who thanked staff at Sicklehome for their support.
