WILDLIFE lovers can find out more about bat species in a South Yorkshire neighbourhood at an expert-led event.
The bat evening, led by wildlife expert Pete Middleton, is on Friday, August 19, at Darton Community Garden in Darton, Barnsley.
To take part, meet in the community garden at the top of Bridge Street, at 8.10pm. The event is scheduled to finish at around 10pm on Longfields by the River Dearne.
Darton Community Garden manager Pete Riley said: “Bats are fascinating creatures who share our living space with us so it’s great we have Pete Middleton to share his knowledge and identify what is whizzing about over our heads. It should be a great evening for families to enjoy.”
For a tour of the garden, vistors should arrive at 7.15pm. The bat evening is free but there will be a collection to support local wildlife activities.
