If going back to work after the festive period has brought on a case of the January blues, help is at hand.
Fresh starts will be the theme of the first virtual career fair of the year from Jobstoday – The Star’s official recruitment partner – which aims to help people find a new career with the click of a mouse.
Jobseekers across South Yorkshire will get the chance to meet with some of the country’s biggest employers to discuss openings online over a period of 12 days.
This year will focus on careers in engineering, energy, healthcare, sales and customer support and apprenticeships.
Companies from across the country have already signed up to the event, including Priory Healthcare, University of Edinburgh, Czajka Care and Arla Foods.
The fair, which will run from January 27 to February 7, allows online users to chat to potential employers from their computer using video conferencing technology.
Joe Slavin, a director at Jobstoday, said: “The virtual careers fairs were such a success last year that we decided to hold more and include a wider range of sectors.
“Looking for a job is hard and our virtual careers fair takes a lot of hassle out of the process, leaving the good bits intact. Job seekers can talk and apply to a wide range of companies – all looking for the perfect candidate – without having to leave their house.”
