A rare Jaguar, sold in Sheffield for the first time in 1959 for £2,065, has sold at auction 55 years later for £63,100.

The XK150S 3.4 litre coupe – one of only 42 produced with right-hand drive – was bought new from Hatfield’s by Sheffield engineers J Beet Ltd. Its registration number in those days was 3 WJ.

Since then the car has had five other careful owners, including one in Sweden, before coming back to Sheffield before the Bonham’s sale in Hampshire.
