If there’s one thing Macey lacks it’s confidence - and there’s little wonder when you consider this four-month-old pup had such a sad and scary start in life.
When she arrived at the RSPCA centre in Attercliffe she was underfed and fearful.
Staff are hoping someone can restore her confidence and give her sad tale a happy ending and a loving home.
Animal care manager Tony Benham said: “This gorgeous American bulldog puppy has the personality and looks to melt any heart but ideally we are looking to find someone who has some experience with dogs.
“We will never completely know what happened to Macey but she was very thin and nervous and it was very upsetting for staff.
“We don’t think she got the interaction and love a young puppy needs in the first few months of their delicate life.
“But she has grown in confidence and is ready to bounce into the second chapter of her life.”
Macey is still a baby, her joints are developing and her new owner needs to get the balance right between rest and exercise. She’ll need training and socialisation to help her gain her confidence.
RSPCA Sheffield is open every day, from 12.30pm until 3.30pm and Wednesday from 5pm until 7pm.
