A TEENAGE girl had to be rescued from a peat bog after becoming trapped during a Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition in the Peak District.
The 17-year-old, from Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, was among a five-strong group heading from Brown Knoll to Edale when she got stuck on Sunday afternoon.
Mountain rescue teams used a rope to pull her free.
The teenager was cold but otherwise unharmed.
A Buxton Mountain Rescue Team spokesman said: “This is the second incident within a week of walkers becoming stuck in peat bogs, due in some part to the amount of rain recently.”
