A TEENAGER was taken to hospital after injuring herself on a walk in the Peak District.
The 15-year-old girl was hurt when she slipped while climbing a steep footpath on the south side of Great Shacklow Wood, near Bakewell, aggravating an old knee injury.
Paramedics and the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called to the scene, and a search party was sent into the wood to find the youngster.
Mountain rescue team members provided shelter for the teenager and called for assistance before the rest of the emergency workers joined them.
The girl, from Bredbury near Stockport, was stretchered to an ambulance then taken to Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport, for more treatment after the accident at 2.30pm on Sunday.
