Girl, aged 11, struck by car in Rotherham

A girl aged 11 was seriously injured when she was hit by a car after she stepped into its path.

The youngster had been walking along a path when she is believed to have stepped into Fenton Road, Greasborough, as a black Skoda Octavia was travelling past.

She suffered a broken leg and facial injures in the collision and was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

The driver of the car, a 35-year-old man, escaped unharmed.

Witnesses to the collision at 3.20pm on Friday should call 101.
