A ROTHERHAM youngster who was left fighting for her life after she was in collision with a car is waiting to find out if she will lose her foot.

Ellie Duce, aged 11, suffered a fractured skull, broken left leg and serious damage to the skin on her left foot in the accident on Nursery Road, Dinnington, two weeks ago.

She was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Ellie, of Victoria Street, Dinnington, has undergone surgery on her foot at Sheffield Children’s Hospital in a battle to save it, but medics have warned her family that she may still lose it.

Police believe that Ellie, an Anston Greenlands Junior School pupil, stepped out in front of a blue Volvo—driven by a 40-year-old woman—as it travelled along Nursery Road towards North Anston at 1pm on April 19.

They are appealing for witnesses to the collision which happened just before 1pm.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 0114 2202020 quoting incident number 401 of April 19.
