A Torchlit Bat Walk will take place from Victoria Quays to Salmon Pastures and back this Friday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Wildlife Trust rangers will bring bat detectors with them so budding wildlife detectives can pinpoint the nocturnal high-flyers.
The circular walk will start and finish at Victoria Quays.
The same day, helpers can visit Moss Valley woodlands for a free environmental taster day with rangers from the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust.
Volunteers can learn the art of holly scalloping - call 0114 2634335 to confirm the meeting point in advance.
If you love bats but can’t make the Torchlit Bat Walk this Friday, there’s another guided Bat Walk through Greno Woods on Wednesday, September 12, from 6.45pm to 8.45pm.
